Team Manager – Children and Young People Disability Team
Salary: £51,131 to £55,607 plus £7,000 market premia and £3,000 annual retention payment
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead our Children and Young People Disability Team. This is a key leadership role responsible for supporting social workers who work with disabled children, young people and their families. You will ensure the delivery of high quality assessments, plans and interventions that safeguard children and promote their wellbeing, independence and development.
About the Role
As Team Manager, you will:
• Provide clear leadership, direction and day to day management to a team of social workers
• Offer regular, reflective professional supervision and ensure staff have effective development plans
• Oversee team performance, using data to track progress, identify issues and drive improvement
• Ensure statutory work, including assessments, visits and reviews, is completed to a high standard and within required timescales
• Allocate work appropriately and ensure that children’s plans are focused, purposeful and regularly reviewed
• Support safe and effective recruitment, helping to maintain a stable and skilled workforce
• Manage delegated elements of the staffing budget and ensure financial decisions remain within agreed limits
• Work closely with partner agencies, internal teams and external organisations to achieve joined up, consistent support for children and families
• Keep up to date with legislation, guidance, research and best practice to maintain strong professional standards
• Deputise for senior managers when required and support service-wide development projects

About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
• A recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
• Strong post qualifying experience within children’s services, ideally including work with disabled children
• Proven experience supervising and developing social workers and other staff
• A solid understanding of statutory frameworks, safeguarding practice and relevant legislation
• The ability to interpret complex information and make clear, evidence based decisions
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Commitment to equality, diversity, professional standards and continuous development
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
