Your new company Solihull Children's Services are seeking an experienced Youth Justice Service Team Manager to provide sickness cover within our Exploitation, Missing and Youth Justice Department. Your new role As a Youth Justice Service Team Manager, you will play a key leadership role, responsible for the operational management and delivery of all aspects of the Youth Justice Service, ensuring compliance with legislation, national standards, and local policies.You will lead a dedicated team working with children and young people across prevention, out-of-court disposals, statutory interventions, and custody. The team currently supports around 100 children at any one time.Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a small, skilled team (2 Team Managers, 2 Team Leads, Restorative Justice Worker, 10 Youth Justice Officers, and 2 Support Workers). Ensure high-quality, child-first services that reduce youth offending and safeguard children. Oversee performance management, quality assurance, and practice development. Work collaboratively with partners to improve outcomes for children and young people. Manage budgets and resources effectively.Working PatternHours: Monday-Thursday 9:00-17:00, Friday 9:00-16:30Hybrid: Minimum 2 days per week in the office at Elmwood PlaceDuty Requirement: Weekday duty rota and Saturday duty manager (1 in 4 weeks) What you'll need to succeed Substantial experience as a Youth Justice Service Team Manager. A minimum of 1 year experience in leadership and managing a team with a Level 5 qualification. Strong leadership and performance management skills. In-depth knowledge of Youth Justice legislation, policies, and best practice. Ability to work under pressure and make robust safeguarding decisions. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential car user post). Desirable: Experience using Child View recording system.Additional Information Enhanced DBS check required. Occasional evening, weekend, and bank holiday work.
