Supporting Children with Complex Learning Needs in Specialist Schools
Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a number of SEND schools that support children with complex learning and behavioural needs. We are looking for skilled, calm, and resilient professionals who are Team Teach trained and confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking candidates who have experience in:
SEND / SEN schools, specialist provisions, PRUs or alternative settings
Care or residential backgrounds supporting young people with additional needs
Environments where behaviour management strategies are essential
Essential Skills & Experience:
You should bring experience in the following areas:
Team Teach de-escalation and physical intervention strategies (recent certification preferred)
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Using visual communication aids such as PECs and visual schedules
Moving & handling, personal care, and assisting pupils with physical needs
Experience or training in areas such as tracheostomy care, medication administration, and PEG feeding is highly desirable
The Role:
You will work alongside teachers and support teams to provide calm, consistent, and safe support for pupils with a range of learning needs. This includes helping young people regulate their emotions, ensuring positive behaviour strategies are followed, and creating a secure environment where pupils can engage and progress.
