A well-established UK manufacturer of timber fire doors and bespoke timber products is seeking an experienced Technical Advisor to join their expanding team. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, supporting internal departments, and resolving product-related technical queries across the business.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for a technical professional with a background in fire doors, joinery, or regulated manufacturing to take ownership of complex issues and contribute directly to product quality, internal processes, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the go-to person for technical queries across Sales, Production, Compliance, and Marketing
Liaise with external fire consultants and assist with engineering assessments
Mentor junior team members and review technical outputs
Interpret and advise on product certification, test evidence, and compliance requirements
Review technical drawings and specifications as needed
Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and marketing collateral
Stay current with industry standards (BS 476, EN 1634, etc.) and advise teams accordingly
Contribute to internal training, process improvements, and technical system enhancements
What We’re Looking For:
3–5 years in a technical advisory, engineering, or product compliance role
Strong understanding of fire door certification and regulatory requirements
Experience supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders
Confident communicator with strong documentation and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with CAD and technical drawing review is advantageous
Well-organised, detail-focused, and motivated by product accuracy and integrity
