Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Author based at Westlakes Science Park/Sellafield Site on a hybrid basis.
This is a 12-month contract role inside IR35 at £32 to £35ph (umbrella) and will require SC clearance.
***Only apply if you are a British Citizen and passport holder and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.***
Candidates can start with BPSS security clearance whilst higher level clearance is being undertaken.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel and visitors
Promote a positive, professional view of the company
Adhere to the company's standards and expectations
Communicate effectively with clients and all levels of personnel
Follow safe working practices for on plant visits
Gather information from technical drawings, client documentation and site visits to enable technical documentation production
Produce technical documentation to programme and cost to the current defined process (MP-3-3-006 Technical Documentation Production)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
ONC or above in an engineering subject and/or more than five years' experience in an engineering discipline
IOSH Working Safely
Demonstrate experience in engineering principles, practices, theories and technologies related to mechanical, electrical or instrumentation disciplines
Demonstrate experience in technical documentation production
IT skills - Microsoft Word as a minimum.
DESIRABLE:
Multi-disciplined preferred
Good communication skills
Understand the barriers to producing a fit for purpose document and strategies to overcome these barriers
Ability to work independently or as part of a teamBefore You Apply
