Hours of work: 20 hours per week,
Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
Proficient user of Microsoft word and good written communication skills
General professional qualities such as accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy and good starter-finisher.
Experience as a technical author
Good initiative with the ability to work independently whilst working collaboratively with team members as required
Candidates will be able to simplify complex documents and communicate these in a concise written form
Will be able to plan own work and deliver to a programme of agreed timescales
Experience of AMS system/doc management would be advantageous
Some understanding of nuclear processes and terminology including AGR fuel routes would be an advantage.
Role information:
The role involves reviewing a range of high-quality existing computer-based training material with subject matter experts based at our AGR sites and identifying area's where updates are required.
The role would then involve re-drafting the material where required and achieving subject matter expert approval / verification.
The role may also involve plant visits and taking digital photographs of new plant layouts and equipment.
It would be an advantage to be located close to Heysham site so that face to face interviews can be conducted with subject matter experts
Update of the computer-based material may be undertaken by a specialist contractor and the tech author will need to liaise closely with that organisation to ensure appropriate changes are made.
