Technical Director – Power Electronics

Responsibilities for the Technical Director – Power Electronics job:
* Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary engineering team spanning hardware, software, and mechanical design
* Take ownership of the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to production
* Define and deliver the technical strategy and product roadmap in line with business objectives
* Drive improvements in engineering processes, efficiency, and overall product quality
* Support commercial activities by translating customer requirements into practical technical solutions
* Work closely with manufacturing and operations to resolve product issues and optimise performance and cost
* Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
* Operate as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to wider business decisions
Requirements for the Technical Director – Power Electronics job:
* Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, ideally related to power electronics or electrical systems
* Proven experience leading engineering teams within a product-based, manufacturing environment
* Strong technical background with the ability to guide design decisions and challenge where needed
* Commercially aware, with the ability to support business development and customer engagement
* Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
* Interest in emerging technologies, including AI within engineering environments
