Job Description
Express Recruitment are proud to representing a well-established East Midlands firm that specialise in the design, manufacturing and installation of special purpose, material handling equipment on behalf of global FMCG manufacturers.
Due to continued growth throughout the UK, our client is seeking a Technical Key Account Manager with demonstrable experience within engineering manufacturing (ideally Food) to join their senior management team.
This person will play a crucial part in establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, whilst utilising their technical knowledge and commercial acumen to identify and drive business growth opportunities.
In return, you will receive a generous starting salary of up to £52,000 plus a host of other company benefits including pension, holidays, non-contractual bonus, travel allowances and so on.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Schedule regular visits to UK customer sites to understand their current production challenges and stringent requirements
* Offering technical solutions to customers to counteract their current production issues
* Carrying out technical demonstrations of prototype equipment to customers in an attempt to secure new business
* Maintain in depth knowledge across the company’s product portfolio, as well as understanding key features and functions
* Monitor and chase sales enquiries and outstanding quotations
* Review cost modules, pricing structures, and vendor agreements
* Help to develop and complete technical proposals and tenders
* Oversee key stages of the project life cycle, including key manufacturing stages to ensure key requirements, SLAs and quality standards are being adhered to
* Provide regular project progress updates to customers
* Log key customer information on to the company CRM system and provide regular periodic sales and forecasting reports for senior leadership team
Skills and Experience
* Formal qualification in Engineering, Design or Technical related subject
* Previous experience working for a food-based material handling manufacturer a distinct advantage
* Sound product knowledge of equipment such as roller conveyors, feeders, sortation systems, hoists, palletisers etc.
* Proven capability in building and maintaining professional customer relationships
* Previous technical sales experience, with the confidence to upsell customers
* Experience working with cost sheets, producing detailed quotes and estimations
* Experience producing tenders and proposals highly desirable
* Flexible with UK wide travel when required, including some overnight stays
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages and CRM/ERP systems
* Full, UK driving license essential
