Job Description
We are recruiting for a Shift Technical Maintenance supervisor / Engineer to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on a large scale estate in the Manchester area. The Shift Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance to the buildings and the supervision of maintenance and cleaning contractors. The role is a permanent position paying 43-45k (including shift allowance). The position is 5/7 nightshift. Circa 20:00 - 04:30.
Maintenance Engineer Description:
Completing reactive repairs, planned maintenance and small works projects.
Plumbing repairs and maintenance
General Electrical work such as lamping and emergency light checks
Drainage
Fabric maintenance duties – basic joinery, painting, plastering etc.
L8 prevention and thermostatic mixer valves (TMV)
General handyperson duties
Logging jobs via PDA and communicating with the helpdesk etc.
Liaison with each site manager
Supervision on contractors on site including cleaning teams
Maintenance Operative requirements:
To have general technical skills such as basic plumbing and/or electrical - ideally some basic qualifications in the subject matter
Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.
Supervisory or lead experience
Ideally some soft services overlap
It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.
Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks and building works such as plastering and painting
Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
Willing and able to pass security checks
