About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Technical Manager to join our Cardiff-based team. Working alongside the existing Technical Manager, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating projects through RIBA Stages 4 and 5, ensuring technical information is accurate, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong construction professional who thrives on collaboration and has a solid understanding of the design and delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

  * Manage and coordinate technical design information through RIBA Stages 4 (Technical Design) and 5 (Construction)

  * Work closely with consultants, architects, and subcontractors to ensure information is complete and buildable

  * Liaise regularly with site teams to resolve technical queries (RFIs) and ensure smooth project delivery

  * Review drawings and specifications for compliance, buildability, and industry standards

  * Monitor design programmes to ensure timely release of information

  * Assist in value engineering and cost-effective design solutions

  * Ensure compliance with current building regulations and industry standards

Requirements

  * Proven experience in a Technical Manager, Design Manager, or similar role within construction

  * Strong understanding of the design development process and technical detailing

  * Experience managing Stage 4 & 5 on residential, commercial, or mixed-use schemes

  * Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently between design and site teams

  * Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards

  * Organised, methodical, and solution-oriented approach
