Technical Manager / Mechanical Manager
About the Role
Branta Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a growing business based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager / Mechanical Manager to lead a team of engineers and oversee maintenance operations and project delivery across multiple commercial contracts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, technically astute manager with a background in commercial catering equipment to take a leading role in a dynamic, forward-thinking business.
Key Responsibilities
*
Manage, mentor, and support a team of field-based and site-based engineers.
*
Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations across various client sites, ensuring high standards of service and compliance.
*
Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance schedules.
*
Lead the delivery of minor and major works projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
*
Act as the primary technical point of contact for escalations, complex fault diagnosis, and resolution.
*
Liaise with clients and internal departments to ensure smooth project handovers and strong long-term relationships.
*
Maintain documentation and compliance in line with industry regulations and client expectations.
*
Play an active role in the continued growth of the business, identifying areas for improvement and operational efficiency.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Technical Manager, Mechanical Manager, or similar senior engineering role.
*
Strong background in commercial catering equipment (installations, maintenance, and breakdowns).
*
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop engineering teams.
*
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*
Experience managing multiple contracts or sites simultaneously.
*
Knowledge of health & safety legislation and relevant compliance standards.
*
Full UK driving licence (essential).
