Job Description
Quick Staff UK is proud to be the recruitment partner of choice of a growing manufacturing business in Haverfordwest for a hands-on, forward-thinking Technical Manager. This is a key leadership role, driving food safety, quality, and compliance while overseeing the Technical, Laboratory and Hygiene teams. If you're commercially minded and ready to lead by example in a fast-paced food production environment, this could be your next step.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the site’s technical strategy, ensuring alignment with GFSI standards and customer audit expectations.
* Act as the technical lead on all matters relating to food safety, quality, and legality.
* Oversee the Laboratory and its team, ensuring all testing, quality systems, and compliance functions are maintained effectively.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and operational departments and key customers.
* Promote a proactive quality and food safety culture across the site.
* Champion HACCP and GMP standards, driving hygiene standards and managing the resolution of non-conformances.
* Lead site preparation for audits, conducting regular GAP analyses to ensure readiness at all times.
* Drive continuous improvement in product safety, testing protocols, and site hygiene.
Key Requirements:
* Degree in a science-based subject or equivalent experience.
* Minimum HACCP Level 3.
* Proven experience in a similar technical or quality leadership role within food manufacturing.
* Strong people leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
* Microbiology and food lab experience.
* Highly organised, results-driven, and hands-on in approach.
* Previous experience within the dairy industry is desirable.
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
