The business is well-established with a strong market presence, but the site itself is entering a new phase of development, with plans to raise technical standards, enhance audit performance, and support commercial growth. It is based in North London.
The incoming Technical Manager will play a central role in this journey, leading the technical function and working closely with senior operations to ensure the site is audit-ready, retail-compliant, and fit for future expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Lead and coach the site technical and QA team, embedding a strong food safety culture.
*
Take ownership of all food safety, compliance, and quality assurance activities.
*
Manage and continuously improve site systems: BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, allergen control, traceability.
*
Host and prepare for customer and third-party audits, maintaining strong audit outcomes.
*
Oversee supplier quality and raw material standards, ensuring consistency and compliance.
*
Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and NPD to resolve issues and support launches.
*
Act as a key driver in site improvement projects, elevating technical standards and supporting strategic growth goals.
The Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for a confident and capable Technical Manager (or a strong ready-to-step-up Senior QA/Technical professional) with a background in high-risk or high-care food manufacturing.
Required experience:
*
Proven experience as a Technical Manager or equivalent in food production.
*
Excellent knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food legislation, and UK retailer standards.
*
Hands-on, audit-ready, and comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment.
*
Experience within chilled, bakery, ready meals, or meat/poultry sectors is ideal.
*
Strong leadership, people management, and cross-functional influencing skills.
*
Track record of delivering improvements in food safety, compliance, or audit performance.
On Offer for the successful Technical Manager:
*
£75,000 flex salary depending on experience.
*
Opportunity to take ownership of a complex site and lead it into its next phase of growth.
*
Autonomy to shape and drive technical standards.
*
A supportive leadership team with real commitment to quality and improvement
