We are delighted to be supporting a widely recognised, reputable and family-owned processing and manufacturing company as they look for a Technical Manager to join the team. You will take responsibility for assisting customers with quality improvements as well as coordinating with the QA team and Site Internal Auditor/Compliance Manager.
Along with a salary of up to £75,000 per annum, you will receive a range of benefits including a pension scheme, life insurance, onsite parking staff discounts and 25 days holiday + BH.
As Technical Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Developing and maintaining the Quality Management System and the site HACCP plan
Verifying that product quality meets customer specifications
Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
Defining Quality & Technical procedures in conjunction with operating staff
Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers and comparing with customer requirements
Ensuring the Internal Auditing Programme is being adhered to and actions from internal audits are followed through
Writing technical and management reports (e.g., monthly technical reports based on KPIs)
Carrying out shelf-life tests and ensuring that all staff involved in taking shelf-life samples are completing paperwork as required
Ensuring that metal detector and weight checks are being carried out and documented at correct intervals. Ensuring failures are escalated with the Senior Management Team.
Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
Carrying out product label audits.
We’re looking for a Technical Manager with:
Experience working with major retailers
Experience in managing large teams of up to 50+ people
Working Knowledge of BRCGS
HACCP L3, VACCP, TACCP
Food Safety L3
Experience working in similar role preferably within meat processing industry
Ability to talk to customers in a professional manner
Good interpersonal skills, leadership and management skills
Good time management and organisational skills meeting deadlines as required
Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable courses of action
Good IT skills including Word and Excel
Self-driven and seeking professional growth
This is a full-time role, working Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00.
