Job Description
A North London based food ingredient business is looking for a Technical Manager to join its team. In return you will receive a salary of £48,000 pa plus 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Buying / Selling Holiday (via Salary Sacrifice), Pension Scheme up to 10% contribution from the company + Death in Service benefit, Employee Assistance Programme and Enhanced Maternity Pay (after 2 years’ service).
As Technical Manager you will be responsible for:
Managing the Food Safety & Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, food defence, BRC, GMP, FEMAS, and EU/UK regulations.
Conducting internal audits, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring supplier documentation, certifications, and ingredient traceability are maintained to the highest standard.
Liaising with pest control and cleaning contractors, auditing operations to continually improve hygiene and sanitation standards.
Creating and implementing food safety and health & safety training programmes, supporting production staff to enhance compliance and standards.
Managing and supporting the Lab Team Leader and QA staff, ensuring QMS procedures and documentation remain accurate, up to date, and fit for purpose.
We are keen on speaking to people about this Technical Manager who have the following skills and experience:
Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, GMP, FEMAS and EU/UK regulations.
Experience in basic chemical lab testing (starch, protein, CO2)
Excellent communication skills
Experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
Manager, supervisory or team leader experience from within an FMCG environment.
