Overview
Would you like to join one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers which supplies own-label as well as some of the nation’s best-known brands to the major retailers?
Quality is at the heart of everything the group does and nowhere is that more true than at their site in South Wales.
In this role, you will play a key role in developing a Technical function and in continuing to delight customers with high-end products.
The Role
The successful Technical Manager will:
* Lead and develop the site’s Technical and QA teams.
* Maintain and continually improve Food Safety, Legality and Quality Systems.
* Act as the site lead for HACCP, internal audits and risk management programmes.
* Plan and lead customer, third-party and regulatory audits, targeting the highest scores.
* Own the customer relationship for all technical matters – audits, specifications, complaints and improvement plans.
* Establish and report on technical KPIs, driving year-on-year improvements in complaints, non-conformances and audit outcomes.
* Support NPD, trials and process improvements, ensuring products meet safety, quality and shelf-life standards.
* Work closely with Operations, Process, Hygiene and Engineering to drive site-wide compliance and continuous improvement.
* Embed a proactive quality culture and act as a role model.
* Contribute to wider group technical projects and represent the site in cross-functional forums.
The Candidate
The successful Technical Manager will have:
* A strong background in food manufacturing.
* Proven experience leading retail customer audits and delivering strong audit results.
* The ability to coach, motivate and develop a Technical team.
* Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence cross functionally.
