A Unicorn, Career Defining Opportunity*** Technical Manager / Technologist – Food Industry Salary: £55,000–£60,000 DOE plus company bonus scheme | Hybrid Working | Clitheroe- Head Office (once a fortnight) | Travel Expenses Paid  This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a passionate Food Technologist or Technical Manager to take ownership of the technical function within a fast-paced and growing food business. If you’re looking for a role where you can shape standards, drive quality, and have a real impact across safety, legality and compliance, this could be the perfect next step. The Role This is a broad technical role covering all aspects of food safety, quality, and legality. You’ll be responsible for establishing robust systems, managing supplier relationships, supporting product development, and ensuring products consistently meet high standards. You will manage your own diary and work both independently and as part of a wider team. Please note this role has the opportunity for serious development and will over a progressive career plan over the next 5 years! Key Responsibilities Develop and implement new technical standards and processes Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) Build and manage effective relationships with suppliers and manufacturers Lead complaint investigations and identify root causes Take the lead on technical incident management Set product testing standards and manage specification documentation Support NPD projects to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and legal standards Manage and approve artwork and labelling across all regions and formats Ensure marketing claims are legally compliant and clearly communicated What You Will Need A degree in Food Science or Food Technology Experience developing and maintaining a QMS Confidence managing suppliers and technical relationships Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners Access to a personal car (travel to manufacturers is required; fuel expenses will be reimbursed) Working Arrangements Hybrid working: Home-based with travel to Clitheroe head office at least once every fortnight Site visits to suppliers and manufacturing partners as required weekly, but you will be managing your own diary Full autonomy to manage your own time and responsibilities Benefits Salary between £55,000 and £60,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays 70% discount on company products Discretionary annual bonus Pension contributions Working for a global, market leading brand If you're ready to take full ownership of a technical function and work in a role that offers real variety and responsibility, I would love to hear from you.
