Job Description

Job purpose To provide scientific/technical application and training support, specifically relating to the product portfolio and food products/ingredients. Working closely with the Sales and Service Teams to help customers understand the analytical solutions provided. Duties and responsibilities  Provision of product technical support for customers both face-to-face and remotely  Preparation and development of customer training material for the product portfolio, and assisting with its implementation at customer sites  Carry out technical installation/training for new customer equipment at customer sites  Present online and in-person technical applications to food/feed/dairy sector clients  Promote the principle product range, to provide customers with the ideal solution  Fulfil the work requirements for collaborative sales feasibility projects with customers and/or suppliers  Assist the Sales Team to provide training, product demonstrations and resolve problems  Provide general office support as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the Company  Adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures  Any other relevant duties as required Person Specification Essential  Knowledge, understanding and application of scientific methods/procedures/assays  Knowledge of analytical/laboratory equipment applications  Excellent training (practical & theoretical) and presentation skills taking account of both non technical and technical staff  Hold a full UK driving licence  Willingness and ability to travel nationally and globally to fit with customer requirements  Adaptable when working in challenging/varying environments  Ability to build, develop and influence relationships  Good verbal and written communication skills  Commercially aware  Capable of working under own initiative  Ability to manage self and time  Negotiation skills  IT literate  Able to work under pressure and to stringent project deadlines Desirable  Knowledge of: - Cereal Science: Grain / Milling / Baking (Proteins / Starch / Mycotoxins) - Spectroscopy: NIR & Visible (Benchtop / Online) / Cereal, Food, Dairy Applications - Dairy Sector: Compositional Chemistry / Antibiotic Analysis (Lateral Flow) / Microbiology (ATP)  Proven educational or training background  Provision of own transport Dimensions of the role Requirement for flexibility for overnight stays. Regular UK and some overseas travel. Occasional travel outside of social hours e.g., evenings and weekends to suit the needs of the business. Working conditions This role is office based with the need for flexibility to regularly attend customer sites where necessary, to carry out new instrument installations and customer training
