Job Description
GMP Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-known Telecommunications service provider based in Southport. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to join their team on a rolling contract basis.
The desired individual will be supporting hardware installation, fibre cabling, fault finding, and providing hands-on support across multiple data centre sites within the company’s infrastructure network.
This is an ongoing contractor role, paid weekly at up to £200 per day, working outside of IR35.
Telecommunications Engineer Main Responsibilities:
* Rack and stack: Installation and deinstallation of equipment
* Fibre optic patching and cabling
* Labelling and documenting cables and equipment
* Fault finding, diagnostics, and testing
* Assisting with site maintenance
* Travel to other data centre locations as required
* Escorting customers and contractors
Telecommunications Engineer required skills and experience:
* Proven experience with rack and stack procedures
* Skilled in fibre optic installation and deinstallation
* Confident in accurate labelling and documentation of infrastructure
* Strong understanding of basic diagnostics and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with test equipment used in data centre environments
* Exposure to network devices such as Infinera or Ciena is a strong advantage
