Are you an experienced clinician with a background in urgent or primary care, looking for a flexible and non-patient-facing role that still makes a real impact? As a Telephone Triage Clinician you will deliver safe, efficient clinical assessments and advice to patients across Nottinghamshire.
What will the role involve?
Provide clinical telephone triage and consultation for urgent care patients (111, EMAS, ED validation)
Assess and prioritise clinical needs, using established protocols and clinical judgement
Promote self-care and signpost to appropriate services
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and refer to other healthcare professionals where necessary
Support medicine administration via PGDs or prescribing qualifications where appropriate
Use systems such as Adastra, SystmOne, ICE to document and coordinate care
Participate in audits, complaints investigations, and service development initiatives
Provide guidance and support to junior staff and students
Work flexibly across days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidaysSkills and Experience required
Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC/HCPC), in good standing
3+ years post-registration experience working independently
Qualified in minor illness/injury (Level 6 or above) with relevant competencies
Prior experience in telephone triage or urgent care
Confident in problem-solving and working under pressure
Excellent communication, IT and clinical documentation skills
Knowledge of safeguarding, NHS policy, and data protection
Comfortable working within protocols and prioritising patient safety like 111 FIRST
Familiarity with key performance indicators, NQRs, and CQC frameworks
