Location: Carluke

Job Type: Full-time Temporary to Permanent Hygiene Supervisor

Shifts: Day shift either 6AM - 2PM or 8AM - 4PM

Pay Rate: £13.74 per hour.

Start Date: ASAP

This is a key leadership role, responsible for supervising hygiene staff, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring compliance with site and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the hygiene team across all cleaning activities, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.
Plan, monitor and record daily, weekly and deep clean schedules within production, equipment, and facility areas.
Ensure all hygiene operations meet BRC, HACCP, and company food safety requirements.
Train, support and develop hygiene operatives to maintain best practice.
Conduct hygiene audits and inspections, addressing non conformance and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure safe use of chemicals, equipment, and correct PPE at all times.
Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records. 

Requirements

Previous experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Senior Hygiene Operative in a food production or manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP and BRC.
Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills.
Ability to work in chilled, fast paced environments.
Confident using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Flexible with shift patterns (days or back shift options available).
