Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Housing Management Officer to join Darlington Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What are you expected to do?
* Effective Working and Liaison - Work in close liaison and partnership with tenants, residents, members, other sections and departments and voluntary and statutory organisations to promote and develop inclusive and sustainable areas and provide an holistic approach to tenancy management issues.
* Tenancy Matters - Deal with all tenancy related matters in Council owned properties, inclsuing low level ASB, including enforcement of the Tenancy Agreement.
* Estate and Housing Maintenance - Complete inspections of properties, shared and communal areas to ensure health and safety of tenants and to ensure that all repairs and estate issues are carried out effectively and efficiently in partnership with residents, members and other organisations.
* Void Properties and Housing Applications - Ensure the efficient relet of properties to maximise income collection and reduce waiting list for re-housing.
* Major Works - Work in close liaison and partnership with internal and external agencies to assist in the delivery of mahor programmes of work to properties and areas.
* Correspondence and Reports - Provide written and verbal responses for Councllors, tenants and senior management as required.
* Rent Control – Monitor individual accounts and taking appropriate recovery action, culminating in eviction when necessary.
Requirements:
* Approximately 2 years experience of working in a housing environment or related field
* Approximately 2 years experience of property inspections including identifying repairs and maintenance needs
* Experience of account monitoring.
* Commitment to providing excellent customer service with the ability to be caring/empathetic.
