Our Client Barking and Dagenham Council, is looking for an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join their Team urgently.
Job Purpose
To improve the quality, safety and choice of residential accommodation in Barking and Dagenham through a range of professional and specialist interventions including enforcement, education, mediation and advice.
Maintain effective relationships between tenants, landlords, stakeholders including internal and external partners and other relevant Local Authorities.
To conciliate and mediate, and successfully resolve disputes between tenants and landlords. To take effective and appropriate enforcement action under the relevant legislation when matters cannot be resolved informally.
Impartially investigate alleged offences under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 and other related Acts where landlord and tenant offences may have been committed. To prepare legal court prosecution case files, giving evidence at court as necessary
Requirements
Hold a professional qualification related to the themes of housing, tenancy and landlord law and/or tenancy support and sustainment.
