Location: Surrey (near Rockshaw Road, Chaldon)
Contract Type: Permanent
Actual Salary: £27,713 - £30,250 (dependent on qualifications) + £2,000 welcome bonus for candidates with SEN experience*
Hourly Rate: £15.51 - £16.93
Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only
Working Pattern: Start 8:15am | Finish: Mon-Wed 4:45pm, Thu 5:00pm, Fri 4:00pm
About the School
This role is based in a new specialist secondary SEND school opening in September 2025 in the Surrey area. The school supports young people aged 11-16 with social communication needs, emotional regulation difficulties and sensory processing challenges, typically associated with autism.

The Role
We are seeking a THRIVE Practitioner to support the pastoral and SEND teams in delivering an effective Thrive provision. The role focuses on supporting students' emotional, social and behavioural development to help increase engagement, build resilience and remove barriers to learning.
Work may also take place at a nearby satellite site when required.
Key Responsibilities
Use specialist skills and training to support pupils' emotional development and behaviour needs.
Assist in the daily operation of the Thrive provision, including supervision, planning and implementing personalised programmes.
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, modelling appropriate behaviours and responses.
Provide creative, play-based and arts-based experiences that promote experiential learning.
Deliver 1:1 sessions, small-group work and whole-class wellbeing activities.
Develop constructive relationships with parents and families; contribute to feedback and review meetings.
Promote inclusive practice across the school and encourage positive approaches to supporting learners at risk.
Provide clear and objective feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and emotional development.
Assist with ongoing assessments and contribute to the creation of up-to-date Thrive action plans.
Maintain required data and records for the Thrive lead or coordinator.
Support, guide and supervise other staff involved in emotional and behavioural development work.
Contribute to Annual Review paperwork and meetings where required.
