Interim Timetabling Manager - Higher Education
Location: Oxfordshire (2-3 days on-site per week)
Contract Length: 3 months
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days on-site, remainder remote)
Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Timetabling Manager to join a well-established institution on an interim basis. This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality academic timetables and ensuring smooth coordination across departments during a period of transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the production and maintenance of academic timetables across departments
Manage room bookings and scheduling for teaching and non-teaching activities
Liaise with academic and professional services staff to resolve clashes and optimise space usage
Support data quality improvements and ensure timetabling aligns with institutional policies
Provide guidance and support to timetabling staff and stakeholders
Contribute to process reviews and system improvements
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in academic timetabling within a UK higher education setting
Strong working knowledge of timetabling systems (e.g. Scientia, Syllabus Plus, CELCAT, CMIS)
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
Experience with space management and utilisation reporting is desirable
