Title: Head of Health & Safety – Complex Social Care Provider
Location: Home-based with travel across Cumbria and the North East
Salary: £50,000-£55,000 + £5,000 car allowance + mileage expenses from home.
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Location/Travel
This is a hybrid role which involves 3 days of travel and 2 days working from home per week. Candidates must be flexible to travel across Cumbria and the North East.
Overview
Compass Associates is exclusively working with an industry leading Complex Social Care Provider across a portfolio of residential homes, to recruit for a new Health & Safety Manager. This is a newly created leadership role where your expertise will directly protect and empower both the staff and the children within their care. This includes shaping policy to leading audits, training teams, and embedding a proactive safety culture to drive a commitment to excellence, across a portfolio of residential homes which are located across Cumbria and the North East.
Remit
Your role will involve leading the health & safety strategy across multiple residential sites, delivering audits, investigations, and compliance reports that drive real change, designing and delivering engaging training that sticks, supporting managers with risk assessments and safety planning, as well as championing a culture where safety is everyone’s business. Your role will be supported by a Head of Quality as well as having close involvement with facilities and maintenance team.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
* NEBOSH qualification with multi-site H&S experience
* A confident communicator who can influence at all levels
* A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
* A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Cumbria and the North East
* Willingness to travel as required
* Previous experience working in residential childcare, education, or regulated care settings is desired but not required.
