Job Description

Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Tool Designer - Detail Parts to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves the detail tool design from concept development through to the issuance for detail products and assembly of airframe-related parts.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop detail tool designs from concept to issuance for airframe-related parts
Collaborate with multiple teams across different engineering disciplines, including design, toolroom, and process development teams, as well as external suppliers
Generate solutions for complex problems from concept through to actualisation
Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing accurately in tool designs
Ensure compliance with external and internal company standards governing tooling activities

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in detail tool design processes, preferably within the air sector
Proficiency in the use of CATIA V5
Thorough understanding of interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Knowledge of internal company systems such as SAPCAMS & PLM is desirable
Comfortable working in an early lifecycle programme environment with inherent uncertainties and volatility
