Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Tool Maker looking to work for a well-established automotive manufacturing company.
Offered on a temporary to permanent basis, this role of Tool Maker is available for immediate start. The role of Tool Maker requires you to have proven experience in mechanical problem solving and high-precision tooling, also holding experience operating milling and EDM wire machines.
Tool Maker duties will include:
* Perform dismantling, assembly, and maintenance of both transfer and progression tooling
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults with a strong focus on accuracy and precision
* Interpret and utilise CAD/CAM designs for use on milling machines and wire eroders
* Evaluate tool condition and determine whether repairs can be completed in-press or require removal to the Toolroom
* Maintain tools in a condition that avoids indirect cost depreciation and ensures long-term value (TPM)
* Collaborate effectively with team members, facilities, maintenance, and press operations to ensure efficient issue resolution
* Estimate job durations, develop repair plans,
* Complete comprehensive and accurate maintenance and repair documentation
* Ensure all tasks are completed within strict production and customer timeframes
Skills required by Tool Maker:
* Proven experience in mechanical problem solving and high-precision tooling
* Working knowledge of transfer and/or progression tools (preferred)
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD/CAM data
* Experience operating milling and EDM wire machines
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Rate of pay: £15-£18 per hour
Hours of work: 22 hours per week, can be flexible on days
Contract: Temporary to permanent
