Tooling Engineer
Location: Kent
Salary: £38-46k + Benefits
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shifts: Monday to Friday - 7:00am-3:00pm / 3:00pm-11:00pm (rotating weekly)
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join their Tool Room team. This hands-on role involves routine and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repairs to injection moulding tooling and associated equipment to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs on injection mould tools
Diagnose and resolve tooling faults efficiently to reduce downtime
Use a variety of conventional machining techniques, including milling, turning, grinding, and spark erosion
Manufacture and modify tools, jigs, and fixtures as needed for engineering support
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance and repairs
Uphold high standards of health and safety within the workshop environment
Liaise with the Tooling & Maintenance Manager and Team Leader regarding any issues or requirementsEssential Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar tooling or toolmaking role within an injection moulding environment
Skilled in the use of conventional machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and spark eroders
Strong understanding of mould tool maintenance and fault diagnosis
Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work independentlyDesirable:
Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment
