Job Title: Toolmaker / CNC Machinist
Location: Derby
Temporary role: 10-12 Weeks

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Toolmaker to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business. This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for producing high-quality tooling using both manual and CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a variety of manual machines including milling machines, lathes, and drilling equipment.
*
Program, set, and operate CNC machines (experience with ProtoTRAK, Heidenhain, and OneCNC essential).
*
Manufacture precision jigs, fixtures, and tooling to tight tolerances.
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings and perform first-off inspections.
*
Assemble tooling to produce high-quality finished products.
*
Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
*
Provide guidance and support to apprentices, trainees, and less experienced colleagues.
*
Liaise with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
*
Contribute to continuous improvement projects and new process implementation.
*
Flexibility to work in other areas of the shop floor as required.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience in toolmaking and CNC machining.
*
Strong ability to program, set and operate CNC equipment.
*
Skilled in the use of manual milling and turning machines.
*
Ability to read technical drawings and carry out inspections.
*
Knowledge of part marking and stencil procedures.
*
Welding experience (advantageous but not essential).
*
Good communication and teamworking skills.
*
Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.
*
Flexible, with a positive attitude toward learning and development.
*
Full UK driving licence and valid passport required (for occasional travel)Before You Apply
