Toolmaker / Mould Tool Fitter
📍 Location: Peterborough
🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (Full-Time, Permanent)

I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent engineering company based in Peterborough, who specialise in the design and manufacture of complex rubber and plastic injection mould tools. With a strong UK and international client base, they are known for their precision engineering and complete in-house solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker / Mould Tool Fitter with a background in plastic, steel or rubber mould tools to join a friendly and capable team.
🔧 Role Overview
*
Assemble, fit, and repair steel injection mould tools (primarily rubber, but similar to plastic moulds)
*
Carry out hand-fitting, polishing, and bench work to ensure tools are production-ready
*
Modify tools to drawing specifications or customer updates
*
Manufacture new tooling from scratch where required
*
Evaluate and inspect worn or damaged tools to determine repair scope
*
Ensure tools meet internal quality standards before return to production
*
Collaborate with design and CNC teams to resolve tool-related issues and improvements
✅ What You’ll Need
*
Previous experience in mould tool assembly, fitting and/or repair (rubber or plastic injection)
*
Confident working from technical drawings, with good attention to detail
*
Manual machining skills (milling, grinding, turning, drilling, etc.)
*
Strong bench-fitting and hand-finishing skills
*
Good understanding of tool construction and tolerances
*
A practical and self-motivated approach to problem-solving
