Renowned for delivering bespoke planning solutions across the East Midlands and beyond, this consultancy works on a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, heritage, and regeneration schemes.
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Town Planner to join their friendly and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking to advance their career and gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of planning consultancy work.
Responsibilities
As a Town Planner, your key responsibilities will include:
Preparing and submitting planning applications, supporting documents, and planning statements.
Conducting site appraisals and planning policy research.
Liaising with clients, local authorities, and external consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
Attending site visits and representing clients at committee meetings or appeals, as required.
Contributing to business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships.
Collaborating with senior colleagues to develop and implement effective planning strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A degree accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and be working towards chartership (or recently chartered).
Experience in a private planning consultancy or local authority setting (preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence in engaging with clients and planning officers.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A full UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one).
Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day activities will involve:
Collaborating with a supportive and experienced team to deliver high-quality planning services.
Managing a variety of projects, from initial site appraisals to planning application submissions.
Engaging with clients and stakeholders to provide expert advice and tailored solutions.
Conducting research and preparing detailed reports to support planning applications.
Attending meetings, site visits, and representing clients at planning committees or appeals.
