The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering commercially focused marketing activity that supports supplier campaigns, launches, and brand partnerships. Acting as the central link between suppliers and internal teams, the Trade Marketing Manager ensures every initiative drives measurable results and contributes to wider business growth.
Key responsibilities in the position of Trade Marketing Manager:
The Trade Marketing Manager takes ownership of funded marketing activity, developing creative, insight-led campaigns that enhance visibility and engagement across key channels. They work collaboratively with suppliers to plan, execute, and review marketing initiatives that align with business priorities and trading calendars.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with suppliers, acting as the lead contact for all marketing and campaign activity.
Deliver trade marketing plans that maximise supplier investment and drive customer acquisition.
Analyse campaign results and sales data, producing clear insights and recommendations to improve performance and ROI.
Oversee the trade marketing budget, ensuring all contributions are accurately negotiated, recorded, and reconciled.
Partner with Buying, Finance, and Digital teams to ensure plans are executed effectively and support category objectives.
Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles with brand partners, securing budgets within agreed timelines.
Safeguard brand integrity by ensuring all marketing activity meets agreed guidelines and receives the necessary approvals.
Monitor competitor activity to inform forward planning and maintain a competitive edge in market positioning.
Support digital and merchandising teams by providing input on product presentation and customer experience enhancements.
Represent the business confidently in supplier meetings, reviews, and partnership discussions - positioning the company as a valuable, growth-focused collaborator.
Influence stakeholders to embed best practice and continuously refine how supplier marketing is delivered.
