Are you a skilled tradesperson looking to make a real difference? Teaching Personnel is seeking a Multi-Trades Mentor to support young people aged 13 to 21 in a specialist SEMH provision.
This role offers the chance to use your trade skills to engage and inspire young people who face emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. No teaching qualifications are required — just a genuine passion for mentoring and a recognised certification in a trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, construction, painting & decorating, or similar).
About the Role:
Mentor and guide young people through practical, hands-on projects in various trades
Support personal development, confidence building, and social skills alongside vocational learning
Help students develop employability skills and prepare for future careers
Work within a supportive SEMH educational environment tailored to individual needs
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning space for all students
What We’re Looking For:
Certification or qualification in a recognised trade
Experience working with young people, ideally in a mentoring, coaching, or vocational training capacity
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
Ability to engage and motivate young people with SEMH needs
Strong organisational and safety awareness skills
Flexibility and a team player mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
