The position is a Traffic Management Officer to join their wider Highways team.
This hands-on role where you’ll lead the design and delivery of Traffic Management schemes—from zebra crossings and parking layouts to full Traffic Regulation Orders. You’ll work closely with contractors, councillors, and the public to make roads safer, smarter, and more accessible.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, write, and deliver TROs with signage and road marking implementation
* Design and deliver permanent traffic schemes using AutoCAD and framework contracts
* Lead stakeholder engagement and public consultations
* Manage budgets up to £1M and supervise technical staff
* Draft reports and advise Members on traffic policy and legislation
Experience Needed:
* TRO preparation and delivery (including signs and markings)
* Scheme design using AutoCAD + framework contracts (e.g., zebra crossings)
* Stakeholder management & public consultation—ideally within a Local Authority
Location: North West
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6-month initial contract
Rate: £32 per hour
Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days in the office
