Trainee CNC Machinist
Location: Bishop's Stortford
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: To £25,400 PA, Plus overtime rate
Hours: Monday to Friday: 8.00am to 4.30pm - 40 hours
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee CNC Machinist to join our clients dynamic manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in precision engineering and gain hands-on experience with CNC machinery in a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines (routers, lathes or milling machines).
Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Support the production of precision components to tight tolerances.
Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Follow health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Work closely with experienced machinists and supervisors to develop skills.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues.
Requirements:
Essential:
A keen interest in engineering and manufacturing.
Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of mathematics and measurements.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a workshop or manufacturing setting.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent in Engineering or Manufacturing).
Familiarity with CNC machines or CAD/CAM software.
