A growing engineering business is looking for a Trainee Setter to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in precision manufacturing while working with advanced machinery and contributing to a supportive, team-driven environment.
Main Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC presses to support efficient production.
* Deputise for the shift team leader when required.
* Produce quality components in line with output targets.
* Carry out checks to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.
* Contribute to a culture of continual improvement by generating and sharing ideas.
* Work collaboratively as part of a small, autonomous team.
* Support the development and training of colleagues when needed.
Shift pattern: rotating shifts – one week 6am–2pm, the following week 2pm–10pm.
The Candidate
Mechanical or manufacturing background.
Numerate and literate, with the ability to read technical drawings.
Skilled in using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers).
Confident with basic PC use.
Forklift (counterbalance) experience desirable but not essential.
Salary & Benefits
£22,000 – £32,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications).
Up to 30% performance-related and company bonus
