Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (overtime available, hours may vary daily)
We are looking for a hands-on, reliable Trainee Door Installer / Engineer’s Mate to join our busy team based in Swanley, Kent. This role is ideal for someone practical, motivated, and eager to build a career in the commercial door industry.
The Role
As a Trainee Door Installer, you will work alongside experienced engineers, assisting with the installation of:
*
Commercial Doors including, Aluminium, Steel, Timber, Fire, and Glass doors as well as Drive Thru and Serving Windows
*
Manual and Automatic doors (swing, sliding, and specialist systems)
You’ll be supporting the team with lifting, handling, and fitting a wide variety of doors across commercial sites. Full on-the-job training will be provided, including health & safety, safe use of tools, and product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
*
Assisting engineers on-site with door installations and related works
*
Using basic hand and power tools under supervision
*
Loading and unloading company vans with tools and materials
*
Following health & safety procedures at all times
*
Maintaining a clean and organised work area
*
Representing the company professionally with customers and site staff
*
Driving to sites or suppliers to collect orders
Requirements
*
Must be 25+ years old (for insurance purposes when driving company vans)
*
Full UK driving licence (must be able to confidently drive Vauxhall-size vans and larger)
*
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
*
Valid CSCS card
*
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
*
Punctual, reliable, and willing to learn
