We have a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in housebuilding to join our Civil Engineering team as a Trainee Engineer based at our Western Regional Office in Tewkesbury.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of residential development projects—from initial planning through to detailed design and on-site delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with and support senior engineers in the design and management of residential schemes.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, with additional support available for relevant apprenticeship programmes to help develop your technical and professional skills.

MAIN DUTIES

Assist in the preparation of engineering designs using AutoCAD and related software

Support the production of detailed construction drawings and technical documentation

Contribute to the design of residential layouts, including roads and drainage systems

Work through established design procedures under the guidance of senior engineers

Assist with project coordination, presentation, and management across multiple disciplines

Gain exposure to site activities and support the delivery of projects during construction phases

Dealing with site enquiries in an efficient and professional manner.

Supporting the Design and Technical Team by recording and issuing documents as required and general file management.

Assisting in the formulation of Health & Safety documentation.

Assisting in the co-ordination of site remediation strategies.

Dealing with utility companies to obtain supplies for our developments.

Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.

Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures.

Undertaking any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Maintaining all health and safety aspects including those associated with Covid-19.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.

GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and science.

Full driving licence

Computer / IT literate with capability to use excel, Word and database packages.

A genuine interest in civil engineering and residential development

Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (or willingness to learn)

Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
