Axon Moore is pleased to be working with a highly acquisitive, high growth business based in Blackburn who are currently recruiting for a Trainee Finance Manager position.
This newly created role would be ideal for an individual with previous management accounts experience who is looking to take their first steps into management by leading a small team of three accounts assistants.
If training is needed, our client is able provide training and mentoring from senior management whilst transitioning into a management role. Alternatively, the role would also suit an established manager with the same management account skillset.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead, mentor and support a team of Accounts Assistants to ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate financial results.
Assist the team with monthly bookkeeping activities for numerous entities as and when required in accordance with monthly deadlines
Maintain and reconcile support for key P&L and Balance Sheet items
Ensure all monthly bank reconciliations are undertaken by the team.
Perform group review of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
Ensure accuracy of financial information and investigate and discrepancies
Build and maintain good working relationships
Submit VAT returns to HMRC on a timely basis and assist with annual audit
Drive continuous improvement to gain efficiencies
Ad hoc duties when required
Required Skills and Experience:
At least two years’ previous experience working within management accounts
Management or team leadership experience desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
High level of attention to detail and precision
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Strong Excel and IT skills
