Pay: £40,000 starting salary
* After 3–6 months: £45,000
* After 12 months: £53,500
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Deputy or Senior looking to step up into a Trainee Children’s Residential Manager role for an Ofsted-registered Children’s Home in Bury. This is a full-time, permanent position offering structured mentoring and full support from a Senior Manager to help you develop into the role. The home will provide care for between 1 and 3 children. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality care while progressing into management, making a real difference to the lives of the young people we support.Location: Bury
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Responsibilities
* Support the daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring a safe and positive environment for residents
* Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans and Ofsted standards
* Develop leadership skills under the guidance and mentoring of a Senior Manager
* Build positive, trusting relationships with children to promote resilience, independence, and personal development
* Contribute to safeguarding practices, risk assessments, and the overall wellbeing of residents
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals
* Uphold the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
* Experience as a Deputy or Senior in an Ofsted-registered children’s home
* Knowledge of Ofsted standards and processes
* Proven leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate a team
* A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
* Passion for transforming the lives of children
* Motivation to progress into management with structured mentoring and support
