Overview
Cameron James Professional Recruitment is representing a highly regarded whole-of-market mortgage brokerage in Guildford, now seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Mortgage Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career within financial services, supported by full training, structured development and strong earning potential.
You will join an experienced and supportive team in Guildford, working closely with qualified Mortgage Advisors and a dedicated training department, gaining the skills and knowledge needed to progress toward full CeMAP qualification and regulated status.
Training and Development
This role provides a comprehensive training programme covering mortgage products, protection, industry regulations, customer service, systems and compliance. You will develop the ability to assess client needs, research suitable mortgage solutions and provide professional advice both face-to-face and via telephone or video.
As your skills grow, you will take on more responsibility, progressing from trainee level to a fully qualified Mortgage Advisor with the option to work remotely as your career develops.
The Role
As a Trainee Mortgage Advisor, you will support clients throughout their mortgage journey, assisting with fact-finds, affordability assessments, document gathering and case progression. You will work alongside experienced advisors, shadowing appointments and learning how to handle enquiries effectively.
The position involves engaging with clients, maintaining strong communication, providing excellent service and supporting the wider team as you build the confidence and knowledge required to advise independently.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you should be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to build a long-term career in mortgages. Previous sales experience is advantageous, ideally within financial services, although not essential. A full UK driving licence, clean credit history and the ability to meet FCA standards are required. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic are essential.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
The role offers a structured pathway to becoming a qualified Mortgage Advisor, with full training, clear progression and uncapped earning potential. With a competitive basic salary, guaranteed car allowance for six months and a strong commission structure, first-year earnings of £45,000 and second-year earnings of £65,000 are achievable. You will benefit from a supportive environment, experienced mentors and long-term career stability within a respected mortgage brokerage.
How to Apply
If you are ready to begin your mortgage career in a professional and supportive environment in Guildford, we would welcome your application.
