The Opportunity
As a Trainee Mortgage Advisor / Trainee Mortgage Broker, you’ll receive comprehensive, on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced Mortgage Advisors. You’ll learn to advise clients on residential, remortgage and buy-to-let mortgages, as well as life insurance and protection products.
This position offers a structured development plan, enabling you to progress from trainee to fully qualified Mortgage Advisor, supported by a strong local estate-agency brand and full administrative assistance. You’ll develop a deep understanding of mortgage products, compliance standards, and client management while building a foundation for long-term financial success.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll support clients through the full mortgage process — from initial consultation and affordability assessments to application and completion — ensuring each client receives the highest level of service. You’ll liaise with lenders, maintain compliance, and gradually begin advising clients independently under the supervision of qualified mentors.
As your confidence and skills grow, you’ll take responsibility for your own pipeline, aiming to qualify as a Mortgage Advisor and start earning commission within your first 12–18 months.
Skills and Requirements
To succeed as a Trainee Mortgage Advisor or Trainee Mortgage Broker in Dartford, you’ll need a confident, professional manner, strong communication skills and a genuine desire to build a successful financial-services career.
Candidates who have completed or are studying for CeMAP 1 will be prioritised, although full training and study support are available. You should be motivated, resilient and customer-focused, with a full UK driving licence and clean credit history (essential for FCA registration).
