Trainee Paralegal Location: Nottingham Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Start Your Legal Career Through Practical Training Are you finishing your A Levels and looking for an alternative to university? Interested in developing your career through hands-on learning and workplace training? Our client, a well-established and highly respected law firm based in Nottingham, is looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Paralegal to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking an apprenticeship-style route into the legal profession, combining practical experience with structured training and ongoing support. No previous legal experience is required-just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in building a long-term career in law. The Opportunity Working alongside experienced solicitors and legal professionals, you'll receive comprehensive training while gaining valuable experience across a range of legal matters. From day one, you'll become an important part of the team, developing the knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful legal career. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning on the job and wants to build a career through experience, mentoring and professional development. Key Responsibilities As a Trainee Paralegal, you will: Provide administrative support to solicitors and the wider legal team. Assist with preparing legal documents, correspondence and court forms under supervision. Open, maintain and close client files in accordance with firm procedures. Conduct legal research and gather information to support ongoing matters. Liaise professionally with clients, courts and third-party organisations. Manage diaries, appointments and meetings for the legal team. Organise and maintain accurate electronic and paper case files. Handle incoming telephone calls, emails and post. Support the team to ensure matters progress efficiently. Develop your legal knowledge while ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements. Who We're Looking For This opportunity is perfect for someone who has recently completed, or is about to complete, their A Levels and is looking to begin their career through practical workplace training rather than following a traditional university route. You'll have: A genuine interest in pursuing a career in law. A positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. A professional, client-focused approach. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable While not essential, we'd also welcome applicants with: Part-time work experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or an office environment. Volunteering, school leadership roles or extracurricular activities that demonstrate responsibility, teamwork and communication skills. What's on Offer Our client is committed to developing future legal professionals and offers: Full training and ongoing mentoring. A structured learning and development programme. Genuine opportunities for career progression within the firm. Hands-on experience across a broad range of legal work. A supportive, friendly and professional working environment.
