Ad-Hoc Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant – Chippenham
Are you a compassionate and adaptable individual who enjoys supporting children with additional needs? We’re looking for an Ad-Hoc Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Chippenham, providing flexible cover and support across different classes as needed.
You’ll work with pupils aged 4 to 19 who have a range of needs, helping them to engage with learning and develop confidence in a supportive and inclusive environment.
About the Role
As an Ad-Hoc Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils engage with learning.
Assist teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Support children with personal care and daily routines when required.
Adapt quickly to different classes and age groups, building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Gain valuable hands-on experience while developing your skills within a specialist educational setting.
What We’re Looking For
A patient, caring, and flexible approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for working with children or young people and helping them reach their potential.
Willingness to assist with personal care where needed.
A genuine desire to learn and develop within an SEN environment.
Experience within education or care settings is an advantage but not essential — full training and ongoing support will be provided.
A DBS on the Update Service is preferred.
