Trainee Timber Frame Designer
Location: Canterbury
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (40 hrs/week)
Salary: £25k + Monthly Bonus Scheme

Our client, a well-established name in timber construction, is expanding rapidly and now seeks a Trainee Timber Frame Designer to join their thriving operation in Canterbury.

Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed timber frame design drawings for client approval
* Collaborate with engineers and architects to complete project packages
* Generate accurate cutting lists, schedules and manufacturing drawings
* Draft site-specific standard details for installation teams
* Offer technical support to site crews and respond to client queries
* Compile ancillary schedules to ensure full project scope coverage
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Excellent numerical and communication abilities
* A meticulous eye for detail and a ‘get it right first time’ approach
* Proven reliability, honesty and a genuine enthusiasm for timber design
* Strong understanding of construction principles (timber frame knowledge preferred)
* Competence in AutoCAD is essential
* Experience with timber frame software (MiTek, Consultec, Wolf, ITW etc.) – cross-training available
