Job Description
Trainee Welder/Fabricator
My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Marlow is looking to recruit a Trainee Welder Fabricator on a full-time permanent basis.
Candidates must have worked within a workshop environment and be looking to progress onto welding and have an interest in welding.
Responsibilities and duties:
* MIG welding & fabrication of products for the construction industry including samples and trail pieces.
* Join metal parts by welding.
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method on requirements.
* Setting up components for welding according to specifications.
* Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
* Assist with operation of Press Brake and other workshop machinery
* To work proactively as part of a team to improve productivity & efficiency.
* To follow all Company procedures & processes, including ISO9001, ISO14001 & EN1090-1 EXC2
* Assist where necessary within the fabrication workshop.
Desired / required skills / person spec.
* Knowledge of fabrication machinery; CNC Saws, Punches, Pressbrake desirable.
* Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
* Able to read work instructions / drawings.
* Be able to use hand tools.
* Familiar with measuring equipment.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to work as a team.
* Be able to work independently in an agile environment and equally work as a team.
* Be able to multi-task and use your own initiative to plan and prioritize workload.
Hours of work are 07.30 – 17.00 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 – 16.00 on Fridays covering a total of 41 hours per week.
Salary will depend on level of experience and typically between £26-28k with a slight flex for the right candidate. 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays). In addition, my client pays a quarterly/annual bonus which would be worth an additional £4-5k per annum.
