Job Description
Job Title: Transformer Fitter
Location: Leeds LS14
Salary: £19.50 - £21 per hour
Our client is a transformer manufacturer. They manufacture liquid filled and cast resin distribution and power transformers as well as reactors. Due to an ever-increasing demand, they are looking for a transformer fitter to join the team at the Leeds facility.
Competitive rates and annual holiday entitlement in line with the successful candidate’s training, knowledge, capabilities, and experience.
The role:
• Fitting HV Switchgear & Filling LV cabinets to distribution transformers
• Adding protection devices to distribution transformers, (OTI’s, WTI’s etc).
• Wiring of protection devices to marshalling boxes. (Training provided where necessary).
• Testing – experience advantageous, but not essential if willing to learn.
• Cooling medium changes both in the workshop and onsite.
• Stock handling. (Overhead crane and counterbalance forklift).
• Unloading/ loading of transformers and associated equipment.
• Assist with the management of stock levels for consumable items.
• Completing documentation.
• Predominately workshop based, with some Sitework
• Must be able to communicate/ interact with clients on side.
Candidate requirements:
• Ideally an apprentice trained transformer fitter.
• Willing to continually improve their skills through ongoing training.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Able to work alone and as a team.
• Able to take, follow and give instruction when applicable.
• Clean driving license, suitable for large van.
