Job Title and Role: Transport Controller
* Salary: £35,000.00 depending on experience
* Location: Haddenham, Buckinghamshire
* Working Hours: 17:00 to 05:00 Monday to Friday
* Weekend Hours: Shift rotation 1 in 3 (Days)

Job Description
This role is responsible for the efficient and safe running of the day-to-day transport operation with a direct focus on Night Time deliveries into UK retail stores. This role reports directly to the Contract Manager – System Store
The role is directly responsible for ensuring that deliveries that we are tasked to complete via the Night time network are executed to a high standard, in-line with our Networks KPI Obligations.
The role will also be responsible for the Driving Team, ensuring that they are conducting their duties correctly in line with Planning expectations. Where drivers are under-performing, this role is expected to use management tools to identify and communicate concerns, and be able to work with both Management and the Driving Team to remedy the concerns. Additionally, the role will also have a compliance focus concerning driver hours, vehicle defects & infringements. This is to ensure that both drivers and vehicles are compliant in line with local regulations. This role is not expected to be entirely responsible for these areas, as these activities will be supported by the Management Team and the System Distribution/ System Load – Team Leader, with a particular focus placed on the National Compliance Manager to ensure that the above activities are being carried out correctly and in line with our obligations.
This role is expected to be able to competently contribute towards the smooth running of the operation with little to no support (in usual circumstances and after training) from the System Load – Team Leader. This role should also have an element of continuous improvement, with the individual using their initiative and data (trends) to help identify and implement process improvements to drive quality and performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong administrational skills, as well as being confident on the phone to drivers and have strong communication skills.
