Transport Coordinator

Location: Milton Keynes (West Ashland)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised Transport Coordinator to support a busy transport operation. You’ll work closely with the Transport Shift Managers to coordinate deliveries, communicate with drivers, and ensure an efficient, high-quality service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  * Prepare and allocate driver paperwork and route information.

  * Conduct driver pre-briefs and de-briefs, escalating any issues where required.

  * Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout their routes, updating all relevant parties on any changes.

  * Update daily transport KPIs and operational data.

  * Handle telephone and email enquiries from drivers and customers professionally.

  * Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates and resolve any service issues.

  * Arrange assistance in the event of vehicle breakdowns, ensuring driver safety and minimal disruption.

  * Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport department.

  * Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, transport legislation, working time regulations and company procedures.

  * Maintain knowledge of tachograph legislation and Driver Hours regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  * Previous experience in a transport, logistics or supply chain environment.

  * Good working knowledge of Driver Hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive legislation.

  * Strong communication and organisational skills.

  * Excellent customer service skills.

  * Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure.

  * A proactive approach with strong attention to detail
